Tips and Advice

Tips.jpgGetting the most out of the find-a-pa website

In order to maximise your potential to find the right PA for you, or a job with the right employer, follow the tips below:

1. Making your Profile

DO

  • Put as much information on your profile as possible.
  • Make sure you complete all the required* fields.
  • Try to be flexible with working times.
  • Include a photo on your profile.
  • Make the most out of the 'More About Me' section. Here you can tell potential PAs or Employers about you. Due to the nature of the PA role this is often just as important as the job description or qualifications/experience.

DON'T

Put personal details on your profile, except in the places where we ask you specifically for them. These will not be visible on the website.

If you want to give out personal contact details to an individual you are interested in interviewing, or working for, then please use the secure message facility.

 2. Messages

  • Use the secure messages facility we have provided to ask questions and find out more about a PA or prospective employer.
  • You don't have to provide your personal contact details before you know you are interested.
  • We send you a notification email when you receive messages on the find-a-pa website, so you don't have to log in everyday but please try to log in within 3 days of each alert.

REMEMBER If you have any problems with other users of the site, receive abuse of any kind while using this site, or wish to report any problems, do not hesitate to contact the find-a-pa site through the Contact Us page.

3. Maximising your searching potential

When you are searching for potential PAs or Employers try not to make your search too narrow. The more specific you are the less profiles will be available for you to view, this could result in you missing out on a good match for you.

If a profile keeps popping up in your searches that you are not interested in, then simply block that profile. It will no longer show up when you search, but you can unblock it anytime.

4. What documents should you have available?

Employers

You should have the following documents available:

  • Job Description which describes what the role entails and what you would like your PA to do.
  • Person Specification which describes the type of person you require, specific skills, experience and qualifications.
  • You should also have decided how much you are going to pay your PA.

If you don't have the above available or have questions about the recruitment process, please visit our Recruitment Website. Register or log in to gain access to this valuable resource.

PAs

You should have the following documents and information available for potential employers to see:

  • References and/or names and contact details of referees.
  • Certificates of qualifications.
  • If required a copy of your DBS certificate.
  • Your NI number or evidence of your eligibility to work in the UK.
